RETURN TO MORE ABOUT RICK LUDWIG

Ricki Allen Ludwig, was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on September 26, 1966 to parents Beverly & Danny Ludwig.

Rick Ludwig, owner of Showtime Entertainment DJ & Karaoke Service of Des Moines, Iowa, has been entertaining Central Iowa for over 38 years as a Professional Mobile DJ and over 33 years as a Karaoke emcee. As for his vocal experience, Rick has been singing since his mother can remember.  He began with his first public performance when he was four years old by singing "Oh How I Love Jesus" and "Jesus Loves Me" at the Ottumwa Baptist Church somewhere around 1970.

Rick says, "For as long as I can remember, I've been singing.  I love to sing.  I sing just about everywhere I go.  I sing at work, at home, at church and of course in the car and in the shower (LOL)!  I grew up spinning my sister & mom's Beach Boys albums in the late 60's and early 70's, so I had most of those songs memorized.  All of the parts, the melody and harmonies, including the bass and falsetto parts.  I love the oldies.  I also love country music!  My dad always sang country music and had it on the radio all day long.  Johnny Cash, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Glen Campbell, Charlie Rich and I remember the Hee Haw and the Porter Wagoner shows on TV along with The Grand Ole Opry.  That's how I learned the old country classics.  One of my personal favorites is The Statler Brothers and oh how I love the deep bass voice part of their songs."

Rick sang in church choir during his high school years and performed in various church musical cantatas during Christmas and Easter.  In high school, Rick won a few singing awards in various church state competitions.  Since leaving college in 1989, Rick has also sang in public and private performances such as wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, corporate functions, night clubs, casino shows, nursing & retirement homes, karaoke shows, national anthems, singing telegrams, as a street performer and even celebration of life/funeral events along with a countless number of songs at his over 5000 shows from 1985-present.

ACHIEVEMENTS...  Rick won 2nd place ($200) in a karaoke contest singing Elvis in Greenfield, Iowa and he also won 2nd place ($2500) at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa in the Big Kahuna V karaoke contest in 2007 and 3rd place ($500) at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa in the Big Country Showdown karaoke contest in 2011!  Rick also was a finalist at Billy Joe's Pitcher Show in West Des Moines, Iowa back in the early 1990's and got to sing on the Nationally syndicated TV show "Karaoke America" singing "New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra. Rick even tried out for America's Got Talent in Chicago in the fall of 2010. Update: In 2019, Rick began doing a little street performing in downtown Las Vegas on Fremont Street. Rick plans to some day hit the road and perform in casinos nationwide or possibly settle/reside in Las Vegas, Branson or Nashville!

Pictured below is Rick's - The Singing Jukebox show in Las Vegas, NV.

MUSIC STYLES - Rick is very versatile as for music genres and he performs the Oldies (50's & 60's), Christian and gospel, classic country, contemporary country (including hits on the radio today) and even some classic pop and rock and roll songs (70's & 80's).  He also likes to throw in a few Patriotic and a few silly songs by Ray Stevens every now and then. Rick's favorite artist of all-time is none other than Elvis Presley.  He sings Elvis, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash probably the best of all the artists he performs.  Rick has also performed for hire, a few Elvis mini-concerts he calls LVP's (Live Vocal Performances). Rick performed LVP's preceding his karaoke shows, at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino from 1997-2001, whereby he sang a wide variety of mostly oldies, classic country and contemporary songs.  He has also been known to join in on jam sessions and sing with a few local bands and performers since 1997.

Rick has been performing his "I-man" or "Impression Man" show off and on since 2009 at local clubs and casinos. In 2018 he resurrected the Impression Man show and has been doing concerts with many new costumes and singers (see pictures below).

Besides Des Moines and all of Iowa, Rick has also sung in these cities!!  Nationwide travel is no problem for Rick to accommodate.
